Limits

I am a BIG believer in limits. Ninety nine percent of the time.  One thing that absolutely should be limited: term limits for ANYONE for government. Nancy Pelosi (or Bella Legosi as my Dad used to call her) has NO business being in Congress. NONE. AT ALL. Like zip. Zero. Nada. Nil. None. She should have been put out to pasture 30 plus years ago. My goodness. I'll refrain from continuing how I feel about the old hag before I get into trouble. The MAIN thing I think should be limited is how much screen time people use. Cell phones specifically. They were created to be addictive.  Look around you: see how many people today are on their phones.  Whether they are at work, in a car, driving the car, walking down the street.... I'm truly surprised there aren't people falling down everywhere (like in all the hysterical memes), or getting hit by vehicles, because they are constantly looking down. Maybe if they DID step in a hole every now and again they'd get it. What disgu...

For Crying Out Loud

There are a few things in this life that REALLY get on my nerves. One is people who chew with their mouths open and make LOTS of noise when they eat.   Another pet peeve is people who don't use their turn signals ( or blinker if you're from the Midwest). Last I knew, those flashing little arrows are not optional if you know what I mean! Good-NESS! If you're going to turn right, push that lever sticking straight out of your steering column UP. This amazing little light with an arrow pointing to the right shows up, BLINKING on your dashboard!  It's the most amazing sight you ever could see. AND if you push it DOWN, a little arrow pointing to the LEFT will start blinking, letting the traffic behind you, people like me, know what you're doing. Now those are just silly things that get on my nerves. But one has come up here lately (at least lately for me; us country folk are sometimes the last to get word of new ridiculous politically correct lingo. For example: when I w...

Some Fun in the Country

As you know (if you read my last post anyway), I live on a farm. Those of you that knew me "before".... Before I got sick, before I got married, before.... I was a city girl.  My favorite place in the world was Chicago. I worked 50+ hours a week as an Operations Manager at a trucking company.  A little backstory:  I graduated college mid-year, in December of 1993, with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. There were NO teaching jobs at that time. I ended up with part time night jobs, and subbed during the day. My last (ever) part time job was through a temp agency, and I was an evening "helper" to the main biller. Well. The girl I was helping broke her finger about 2 weeks after I started, so I went full time, was hired in permanently, started at the bottom of the ladder, and worked my way up. I loved that job. High stress, lots of action, Type A job all the way.  So...that gives you a tiny snapshot of the kind of person I was (and still am on the inside, except I c...
