Big Problems, ONE Solution

As many of you know, I have a couple of medical ailments. I have suffered from anxiety since I was 8 years old, I have been "diagnosed" with clinical depression since 18. At 18 years old, I also was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Made sense, because if anyone bumped into me, not even hard, I would get this immense pain that lasted way longer than "normal".  I was sick a lot all my life; colds, tonsillitis, etc. My anxiety caused a lot of tummy issues, which led me to miss a lot of school as well. The summer I was 14, I had tonsillitis three times.  I don't know why they were never taken out... After college, I finally got them removed as they were chronically infected. So basically, I had tonsillitis 24/7/365, and my immune system was attacking that infection for a long time. The doc gave me a HUGE shot of penicillin, which I had taken my whole life, and I had an allergic reaction: got a fever and hives. Then my doc put me on sulfa, which he wanted me on until I...

Time for a Chicken Story from the Farm

Once upon a time, in the not too distant past, out in the middle of nowhere.... Just kidding.  As many of you know, I am a woman transplanted out to the country.  And when I say country, I mean RURAL. As in FARM-rural. When we moved here, the closest neighbor was about 1/4 mile away. Now we actually have 2 neighbors we can SEE. I know! With living on a farm, it's only a matter of time before you start accumulating animals. The first thing we bought were chickens. Egg laying hens to be exact.  There is a store called Family Farm and Home "in town". These wonderful people sell animals. Rabbits, ducks, chickens, etc. So we all go on down to the Farm Store, and decide that we need chickens. Gonna have some farm fresh eggs. Somehow, with these teeny, tiny, baby chicks, the employees there (or whomever they bought the chicks from...hadn't thought of that til just now)...anyway, "they" sort them by sex. We wanted all female chicks. Female chicks are called "p...

Not Your "Woke" Woman (Not for the Faint of Heart)

So today is National Women's Day.  I did check, there IS a National Men's Day too...you know, equality and all that.  I was looking through Facebook, and I saw some terms associated with women that are apparently "woke".  I don't even know if I used that properly, and yes, it matters, because grammar is important!  I "woke up" ( pun intended) to some REALLY ridiculous words that apparently refer to women in today's PC, Woke, Liberal, Feminist...anyway you get the idea.  In society. Here are just of few of the gems I procured today: "Vagina owner". Now. I am not a person who throws that word around.  But to show you the ridiculousness of such a phrase I'll give you some examples that directly contradict it. (Because that's who I am.) This term can refer to SO many different things, OTHER than a woman. Pretty much every female creature that I'm aware of (okay I know there are some asexually producing animals, but just go with me...

Hypocritical Much?

Cultural appropriation.  I had never heard of this before. I guess because I'm so NOT "woke". (They can't even use correct grammar??? WOKE?? Ugh.) Anyway...I digress. I literally had to look it up. So, according to the F&B Report in Goodhousekeeping Magazine ( I know!) cultural appropriation is: "When a superior race (I didn't know there was one) owns another race's attributes, most of the time for aesthetics. It becomes especially offensive when they don't respect the ancestry or when they are praised for how they utilize these attributes while the minorities, who are known for them, are shamed." M'kay. I have a WHOLE lot of issues with this statement. Oh, and the stuff in parentheses is mine. First of all, I didn't realize there was any one superior race. If you go by the innuendo in that statement, they are referring to white people. Which is a bunch of horse crap. Last time I checked, I wasn't an Arian or a Nazi (although I ...
